About ZRSD
Zumbro River Sporting Dogs is a dog training facility in South Eastern Minnesota focused on training high quality sporting dogs. It is located in West Concord, Minnesota (between Rochester and Owatonna). ZRSD was founded by Aaron Valentyn, an avid hunter and dog trainer. Aaron is the sole owner and trainer. He personally trains and handles each dog. The number of dogs is limited so that Aaron can spend as much time as necessary with each individual dog to maximize their potential.
We also have a small breeding program and strive to provide genetically sound dogs and we are always working to improve the breed.
Aaron Valentyn
Aaron has been training retrievers for over 20 years and has been hunting upland game birds and waterfowl across the country for over 30 years. Aaron's love of dogs and hunting started at the age of 8 with his first dog Sadie, a lively golden retriever.
Aaron has trained many dogs to the finished level and has had great success in both AKC and UKC hunt tests.

All of our kennels are indoor in a climate controlled facility. Kuranda beds are used in all of the kennels for the dogs to be comfortable on during their stay at ZRSD.

We have access to some of the premier technical water in the midwest. This allows us to be able to bring out the full potential of your dogs water work.
Technical Land
We also have access to hundreds of acres of premier technical land. We are able to develop a dogs ability to handle many different situations that it may see in either a hunting situation, hunt test or field trial.
Groomed Training Grounds
We have grounds that are groomed specifically for obedience and yard work. This allows us to get sound ground work done with all the dogs in our programs.
